DNPA Code of Ethics

At First Live TV, a proud digital initiative of the Live Sach News Network founded by Ravindar Nagar, we believe that responsible journalism is the foundation of a transparent and informed society. As a trusted digital news portal, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of editorial integrity, accuracy, and accountability.

To reinforce these values, First Live TV voluntarily adheres to the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA) Code of Ethics, a framework designed to ensure that digital news publishers operate with fairness, responsibility, and respect for the truth.

Our Core Ethical Principles

1. Accuracy, Transparency, and Fairness

  • We are dedicated to providing accurate, factual, and verified news. We eschew the publication of inaccurate, baseless, or distorted material.
  • Pre-publication verification is mandatory for our editorial team. We do not intentionally misrepresent facts or distort information for sensationalism.
  • We present diverse viewpoints on issues of public interest, ensuring fair representation of differing perspectives.

2. Right of Reply and Prompt Corrections

  • News reports and articles carrying allegations against a person or party will incorporate their comments or version of events. If a response is received after publication, it will be promptly updated and incorporated.
  • If any news report or article is found to contain false or inaccurate information, we take full responsibility for correcting it. Upon being approached with verified factual information, the content will be edited, updated, or deleted as necessary, with the date of the update clearly mentioned.

3. Respect for Privacy and Dignity

  • We maintain the utmost respect for the privacy and dignity of individuals, especially those who are not in public life. We refrain from publishing private information without consent, except in cases of overriding public interest.

4. Care in Reporting Sensational Matters and Crime

  • We presume innocence until proven guilty. We avoid commenting or speculating on evidence, witness conduct, or the character of the accused and victims.
  • We take special care and exercise utmost caution when reporting on sensitive matters such as sexual harassment, child abuse, crimes against minors, matrimonial disputes, and communal or religious clashes. Such reports are strictly fact-based and unbiased to ensure an environment conducive to communal harmony and peace.
  • Names, photographs, and identifying details of victims, especially in sensitive cases, are strictly avoided.

5. Respect for Intellectual Property Rights

  • We respect the copyright of text, photographs, plans, diagrams, and cartoons. If copyrighted material is used, prior permission is obtained, and proper moral and ownership rights are acknowledged.
  • Trademarks of third parties are not used except with prior permission or under fair use guidelines. In case of any inadvertent infringement, we will promptly edit or take down the content upon receiving a valid request with necessary documents.

6. Adherence to Laws and Regulations

  • First Live TV ensures strict compliance with all applicable laws governing digital media, including the Constitution of India, the Information Technology Act, 2000 (specifically Sections 67, 67A, and 67B regarding obscenity and child protection), and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • We maintain editorial independence and ensure our newsroom functions free from external commercial or political pressures.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with the Information Technology Rules, 2021 and the DNPA framework, First Live TV maintains a strict internal process for reader feedback and grievance redressal.

If any stakeholder or reader has a concern regarding our content, accuracy, or adherence to this Code of Ethics, they are encouraged to reach out to our appointed Grievance Officer. We are committed to acknowledging complaints within 36 hours and resolving them within the mandated timeframe.
